39th FIP Awards for Excellence in Book Production

Submissions are invited for 39th Competition of FIP Awards for Excellence in Book Production.  This Award, restricted earlier only to members of FIP and some State-level Publishers Associations, is now open to all publishers in the country. The entry forwarded is restricted to the Books published and printed in India during 2018 and 2019. 
 
The categories of books eligible for Awards have been rationalised.  The Awards for this year will be for the publications in three separate groups: English, Hindi and Regional Languages in each of the following categories:

  1. General Books:
        (a) Hard Bound
        (b) Paperbacks
  2. Art Books/Coffee Table Book
  3. Textbooks School:
        (a) Primary & Upper Primary (Kindergarten to 8th Class)
        (b) Secondary & Sr. Secondary (9th to 12th Class)
  4. Children Books:
        (a) 0-5 Years
        (b) 6 – 11 years and
        (c) 11-17 years (non-text books)
  5. Textbooks & Reference Books: College & Universities
  6. Scientific & Technical/Medical Books:
        (a) Colleges & Reference
        (b) Monographs
  7. Books translated from Hindi to other Indian languages and vice-versa in all categories of General Books & Children Books.
  8. Cover Jackets
  9. Journals and House Magazines
  10. Price Lists, Catalogues & Brochures
  11. Digital Printing (POD)

While sending the books for the award, only books published for the first time in the calendar years 2018 & 2019 should be sent. However, any other outstanding books, even if published earlier but not previously sent for the award, will also be entertained as entries in very special cases.
 
SELECTION PROCEDURE
The selection for awards would be done by a Jury comprising of eminent specialists in the field of book publishing, book-designing and printing. The decision of the Jury will be final.

Titles in languages other than English should be accompanied by a typed list in Roman script indicating also the category in each case.
 
Please note that the books received are not returnable by the Federation.
 
You are requested to send your titles for consideration to reach the Federation Office by 30th  August 2019, indicating the category in which your titles are to be considered. The packet must be marked “Excellence in Book Production 2019”.
